Our compact lab course (Blockpraktikum) on experimental solid state physics will take place also this year in March, 23.2.2024-7.3.2023, with four appointments during this time. There has been in date change, in order to avoid collision with the module “Einführung in das wissenschaftliche Arbeiten” in the last three weeks of March.The participants will grow their own single crystals from a high-temperature metallic flux and characterize their obtained single crystals using x-ray diffraction and electron microscopy. As a first, you may also characterize your own sample with electrical resistance measurements at low temperatures in the last week.
